What is YouTube?

YouTube is a video-sharing platform where users can upload, view and share videos. It was created by PayPal employees and was bought by Google in 2006. It’s now the second largest search engine in the world. With over 330 million active daily users, it’s easy for anyone to make a video and get their message out there. That’s great news because it means there’s more and more eyeballs to catch your marketing message and put it on YouTube’s video platform. If you’re looking to get started with making videos, here’s everything you need to know. Videos, Videos Everywhere Videos rank higher than other forms of content on YouTube when Google has a high volume of people searching and click through. So, if you’re thinking about creating a YouTube channel or a video on your business or personal blog, it’s smart to put more effort into making sure that the videos you upload are high quality, can rank well and will drive visitors to your site. You’re given the opportunity to upload a video as a “thumbnail” of your content on YouTube. You’ll see videos titled “What Bowl Cabins Tastes Like,” “What Foods Bring Thirst?” and “What Exactly IS Chili Con Carnage?” These thumbnails will be displayed at the top of the YouTube page and give users context around what kind of video you have. The thumbnails have added authority that gives the video a good reputation and helps to show the people searching the video what your website has to offer. Some people prefer a thumbnail that shows only the first 30 seconds of a video. By uploading videos that were shorter in length, you get more people to watch the video, which increases its views and overall views. Getting Started with YouTube For those wanting to get started on YouTube, here are some things to keep in mind: In order to add video to your website, you’ll need to add your website to YouTube.

How does YouTube work?

YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world and it’s used by over a billion people each month. It’s so popular that it’s hard to register how big it is. But if you want to succeed on YouTube, it’s worth understanding how it works. Anne Moiré of White spark has written a pretty comprehensive blog post that walks you through exactly how YouTube works in terms of marketing. I found this post particularly useful because it gave me a starting point to work off of in order to come up with my own marketing strategy. So, Anne says, “YouTube isn’t the sort of place to just hit ‘post’. If you try to add value through poorly written or hastily produced content, you’re going to get overwhelmed by a ton of spammy or negative video results.” Instead, start by organizing your video upload strategy around why you’re creating the video in the first place. That way, you can structure the collection of videos you upload and maximize the return on your time invested there. There are three major ways to get your videos indexed in YouTube: Put (and pay for!) a trademark claim on your video. This helps YouTube understand you as a person or brand. It also improves your chances of getting your videos’ videos listed in YouTube search results, which can be a great way to build your brand discovery on YouTube. For example, Anne wrote a blog post about how to you boost ways to rank your videos (sponsored post, interest-based ads etc.) on YouTube. You may find this information helpful when setting up your strategy. Have your videos claimed by a YouTube Partner. My YouTube partners – or sometimes just the same partner who uses a domain like Inbound.org – help me verify ownership of my videos, and they offer complementary services such as analytics, transcription and editing for me. If you don’t have a partner, an inexpensive or free online video transcriber like Wistia can help with this.

Why do I need a YouTube strategy?

YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google and the second largest social media network with over 1 billion users. But more importantly, people are watching more videos than ever before. According to Cisco, the average person is spending more than an hour a day watching videos. If you’re not taking advantage of this, you’re missing out. YouTube marketing on the take As it turns out, people are spending even more time on YouTube than they do on Facebook. In fact, more than half of all Internet users watch 15 minutes or more of video on YouTube each day. It’s also the number one search engine of videos in the U.S., beating even YouTube TV for time spent watching videos, YouTube Red for video watched, and even Snap chat for time watched.

How to make the best video for YouTube in 2021?

To create a video that’s compelling and will stand the test of time, follow these tips:

1) Include a strong call-to-action. You want to encourage viewers to do something like visit your website or subscribe to your email list, so don’t be afraid to include a strong CTA at the end of your video.

2) Make your content easily digestible. Using (exactly) the same video that I’ve shared in the previous two sections, let’s examine how to take that same content and, using the same formatting, add some useful character spacing to make an article look more readable. For our example: Do you see how the article above looks incredibly cluttered with all the images and textual information? The solution is simple, but it’s not always easy to see: mark up your images with a table that shows the image thumbnail with its Alt attribute, the row of text above it, and the annotated HTML code. Using CSS (fonts aren’t allowed in YouTube videos), you can hide or display the table depending on whether plain text is easier for your visitors to read. A triple fan-out video such as this one that features a text table may give your visitors a more structured and readable experience.

3) Use a strong meta description and title. A meta description and title contribute to the second most important ranking factor (after Page Rank), and are one of the reasons why others may want to rank for your target keywords. A descriptive and highly relevant meta description will often earn additional exposure in search results, as well as in YouTube search results. You’re trying to make the information that’s in your video as up-to-date, relevant, and user-friendly as possible, so if you don’t include something obvious like your company name and services, do it now!

4) If possible, create a product or service-based thumbnail so that the video thumbnail shows up above all other thumbnails. Videos with a product, slogan, or a design comparable to a stock photo are often the most popular on YouTube, making the search engine prime real estate for your video.

Common mistakes that people make when making videos for YouTube

One of the most common mistakes people make when trying to make videos for YouTube is not having a consistent format for their content. One of the reasons YouTube is so popular is because it’s a platform for anybody to share their opinions and thoughts. Videos are popular on YouTube because they allow people to express themselves .After all, a lot of people consume information online. But, clicking through a series of static thumbnails can be boring. When you create content that includes engaging video content, it becomes really easy for your message to spread quickly. And this makes your content not only more attractive to people, but can also increase the engagement of the videos you’re watching. You can improve your engagement by not only looking at the stats pages on YouTube, but also testing and implementing some of these three YouTube best practices when creating videos for YouTube.
